Brief description of residency program
Starting August 2018 Aftab Space will host a resident artist as part of our new mission aligned residency program. Designed to provide a unique working environment for artists, writers, filmmakers/media artists, curators, sound artists, and collaborative groups, this program is committed to highlighting the contributions of Iranian-American artists. The AFTAB SPACE connects artists to Washington DC’s vibrant art community and offers engagement opportunities to fit each residents needs. Aftab Space is dedicated to those artists seeking a small space and uninterrupted time to devote to their practice.
To be in residence at Aftab space means: to work collaboratively, to receive technical and artistic assistance and to be immersed in a vibrant city’s cultural life. While in residence, the artists will benefit from an intense production time enhanced by the exchange of ideas and experiences with peers.
Artists-in-residence are selected by their proposals submitted by an online open call.
